Planned Maintenance at UK Data Centre 2nd April 2012

The UK data centre we use have informed us of planned maintenance occurring overnight starting at 9pm on 2nd April 2012.

Maintenance window:
Start: Monday 2nd April 2012 – 21:00 BST
End: Monday 2nd April 2012 – 23:00 BST

Description:
Upgrade of routing within UK data centre (Smartbunker) core network.

Outage risk:
Several short outages could occur during the maintenance window as routing updates.

Reason for work:
This is the second of two maintenance events (please click here for details of the first).

This final work of the set is to make live a second gigabit fibre, further enhancing redundancy and resilience in the core network Internet connectivity at Smartbunker.

Confirmation received from the data centre that the whole process went smoothly and completely as planned. Our independent monitoring showed 100% uptime for the whole duration, which is excellent. Another fantastic job by the UK data centre.
