Domains
All packages except vserver and dedicated include the registration of a new domain name of the types shown below for use on your hosting space:
- .co.uk (fully open but intended for commercial & businesses)
- .me.uk (for natural persons, e.g. Mr John Doe registering johndoe.me.uk)
- .ltd.uk (limited companies only)
- .plc.uk (public limited companies only)
- .org.uk (fully open but intended for charities, unions, community groups etc.)
- .net.uk (Internet Service Providers only)
- .eu (restricted to persons resident and organisations established or having a registered office within the European Community)
Important: Refer to current Nominet information on second level domains for the full rules concerning entities permitted to register a given .uk name.

If you already own a domain name and wish to transfer, we can help you with this also.
It is possible to register (or transfer) a CentralNIC name (e.g. uk.com) or an IEDR domain (.ie) instead of the included .uk or .com style domain (list above). Just add the price shown across from ".uk.com/.ie in place of included domain name" to your hosting package price.
Managed DNS price is for situations where we manage the DNS records for the domain, but are not able to act as registrar for the domain for some reason (this is very rare, an example might be .coop domains). The first domain will be incuded as part of the hosting package (except vservers), subsequent domains on the account will be charged.
whois Privacy is only available on .com style domains names. This protects your private address details in the public whois records from general viewing. For .uk domains, you can opt out of showing your address details if you are registering as a private individual, all other registration types are required to show their true address on the public record.
All hosting provision is subject to 1 year minimum signup agreement.
All domains added to vservers must be registered by or transferred to Athenaeum.
Mailbox Quotas
We can split these evenly any way you prefer on your request. e.g. the Tree account comes with 7x 20MB mailboxes as standard. You could opt to have this as 4x 35MB or even as 1x 140MB if you wanted to. If you need more space, simply buy more mailboxes and split up the overall quota as you need to.
If you buy additional mailboxes, these will be added as 3x whatever the default quota is for your account type (e.g. 3x 10MB for Seedling, or 3x20MB for Forest) or any equivalent you choose.
Note: The quota will be distributed evenly amongst the number of mailboxes you select to have.
Additional Databases
The price shown in the table above against "Add 2 MySQL databases" is for up to two additional databases, per year and includes access via the web based phpMyAdmin interface for administration (so no need to install this into your own web space!).

Dedicated servers are available for those who require them. Please contact us with your requirements and to request pricing.

Customers are reminded that whilst every effort will be made to ensure there is no data loss on our servers, it is your responsibility to maintain full backups of all of your data (e.g. website content, databases etc).
