Domains
All packages require registration of a new domain (or transfer in of an existing domain) for use on your hosting space.
- .co.uk – fully open but intended for commercial & businesses
- .me.uk – for natural persons, e.g. Mr John Doe registering johndoe.me.uk
- .ltd.uk – limited companies only
- .plc.uk – public limited companies only
- .org.uk – fully open but intended for charities, unions, community groups etc.
- .net.uk – restricted – Internet Service Providers only
- .com – fully open

- .eu – restricted to persons resident and organisations established or having a registered office within the European Community

If you already own a domain name and wish to transfer, we can help you with this also.
Managed DNS price is for situations where we manage the DNS records for the domain, but are not able to act as registrar for the domain for some reason (this is very rare, an example might be .coop domains). All domains on the account will be charged annually at the published price for a Managed DNS domain.
whois Privacy is only available on .com style domains names. This protects your private address details in the public whois records from general viewing. For .uk domains, you can opt out of showing your address details if you are registering as a private individual, all other registration types are required to show their true address on the public record.
All hosting provision is subject to 1 year minimum signup agreement.
All domains added to our servers must be registered by or transferred to Athenaeum, or as a minimum operate under our Managed DNS.
Additional Databases
The price shown in the table above against “Add MySQL database” is for one additional database up to 50MB in size, charged per year and includes access via the web based phpMyAdmin interface for administration (so no need to install this into your own web space!).
Customers are reminded that whilst every effort will be made to ensure there is no data loss on our servers, it is your responsibility to maintain full backups of all of your data (e.g. website content, databases etc).
